Logistics and the supply chain have never been more important to providing effective humanitarian assistance. Logistics activities account for a very large proportion of the costs involved in a disaster relief operation. In the current economic climate it is even more incumbent on all of us to explore ways of minimising costs while maximising the impact of aid.
This RedR course has been approved by the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) to provide appropriate logistics training for the humanitarian sector.
Suitable for:
This is an introductory course so all those interested in professional Humanitarian Logistics should apply.
Course covers:
The course will provide participants with an overview of logistics systems, their relevance in humanitarian programmes and an understanding of the principles and practice of humanitarian supply chains.
A wide and diverse range of topics are covered including; needs assessment, inventory control, communications and risk assessment. And unlike other courses you will experience what it is like to be at the centre of an emergency response in a challenging simulation. No other course in the sector offers such depth and diversity to all those interested in humanitarian logistics.
RedR facilitators with a range of training and humanitarian logistics experience will be conducting the course, alongside instructors from HELP, CILT's Humanitarian & Emergency Logistics Professionals.
Course costs start at £610. For further information on this course or RedR UK's training programme click here (http://www.redr.org.uk/en/What_We_Do/training/UK_programme/). Or if you have any questions please email the training team at training@redr.org.uk
